just finished the book i loved being transported to an australia long ago. i felt sorry for the little boy who i have known only as an actor but now know him as a child.
very touching- i have just heard the last episode of his book "and be home before dark" - read by him on abc mid north coast- all of us who were brought up in australia post WW11 can relate to that expression- he has captured that time perfectly and vividly accounts his survival in a mining town- carpe diem/ rod-taree
