It wouldn't do any good to ask if a product was made with child labor. They would just lie about it. Personally, I'll never ever buy anything sold by Nike. I'll check the labels on everything, and if it's made in Pakistan, or any of a number of other developing nations, I just won't buy it.

Thank you for recognizing this abuse. It's sad that we have to rely on countries like this as an ally for our own security. As long as we get cheap fashion items it doesn't matter to the average American. The next time you buy your kid a 100 dollar pair of Nikes, realize that a child made that for a penny in Indonesia - probably shackled to the sewing machine.
These families sometimes have 18 to 20 children and earn maybe 50-60 dollars a month to care for them.

It brings in money for the families-who need that money to survive.
The alternative is to live in a society that does not have a system of monetary value. Pakistan is far too mired in its ways. You can help by giving them unlimited funds. And still it wont be enough.
