A poem I originally wrote for open mic at Pacific University. It highlights my journey with casual sex and the conclusion I came to that sex as recreation, or just for fun, is unable to satisfy us the way we were meant to be satisfied. Sex is good, in it's proper context. This poem mainly focuses though on anyone who has been deeply affected, hurt, and damaged by sexual sin. Forgiveness and mercy are given freely by Jesus. He cleans, restores, and heals us beyond measure and asks nothing in return. He saw all our sin and filth before he went to the cross and it was still his joy to go get us.

sex is not seen as evil or sinful. Abuse of sex is. For Christians sex is supposed to be an expression of commitment rather than the result of emotionless lust. It is considered spiritually unhealthy to have many sexual partners. This is not repression of sexuality. It is considered suitable expression of it.

Keeping yourself for marriage is not sexual suppression, just like not killing everyone you hate isn't denying freewill. Both are simply considered proper conduct.

Oh sure.... You can easily say that until you actually read the gospel and watch him constantly arguing with the priests and highly religious people in a anti-legalist, anti-hypocritical and anti-authoritarian stance.
