Out of his wealth of tool and die making experiences, Carl Sommer, an award-winning teacher, shares about old fashioned to modern tool and die making. Sommer began in the machining trade in 1947, and he demonstrates how they made their dies and punches back in those days. Then he made precisions dies by form grinding, and then came the revolution where wire EDM was introduced.
Sommer, president of Reliable EDM, started in the machining trade in Brooklyn, N.Y. He has worked as a tool and diemaker, machinist, foreman, tool designer, and operations manager for a large tool, die, and stamping company.
There's much more free information about wire EDM in the highly-acclaimed book, Complete EDM Handbook, written by Carl Sommer and Steve Sommer ME, at www.ReliableEDM.com.Sommer, president of Reliable EDM, started in the machining trade in Brooklyn, N.Y.
