I remember a scene where Alice was standing in her living room alone and she passed out. I can't remember but I think she had a stroke then?

Yup, she wasn't always on board with Jennifer hanging around with him on a less-than-professional basis as DAYS liked to imply in later years (like during the 40th Anniversary). Alice came around when she saw how much they loved each other and only then did she become their cheerleader - a year later.
