I get a lot of emails from people telling me, "I want to gain weight! What the heck do I have to do to gain weight...?"

Well it comes down to 3 different things:

-Weight Training
-Dieting
-Rest

You could throw some supplements in there but it's not 100% necessary... Which is ironic because the first question a lot of guys ask me is, "I want to gain weight, what kind of supplements do I need to take?"

And I always tell them that's the wrong question to be asking.

Now don't get me wrong, there ARE some good supplements that will help you gain weight. But supplements alone aren't going to do the hard work for you.

So there's no getting around the fact that you have to go to the gym, you need to lift heavy weights, and you have to know exactly what you need to eat...

It's such a big topic, it's impossible to tell you everything you need to know in this one YouTube video.

  • Hey Jeff, i used to be 136 pounds at 6'1 in March. Currently im 158 pounds with a 13% bodyfat. Evevrythings good but my belly's being gaining quite a bit of fat due to the 6 meals i take. Doing cardio will slow down my gains no? should i reach my goal weight (189lbs) before working on cutting the bf for abs?

  • @Art0fWarr - If you're eating the right amount of calories you should be gaining more muscle mass than fat. If you're gaining more fat than muscle it's not because you're eating 6 meals a day, it's simply because you're taking in too many calories. You can take your stats each week and find out if you're gaining more fat or more muscle and make adjustments as necessary. Cardio will slow down your gains, yes. Once you hit 15% or 16% BF I'd start cutting. Hope that helps!

  • @MasterCheifX117 - It's not necessary to work your abs every day if you're trying to bulk up. But I know some guys include abs after their morning cardio routine when they're trying to get lean and cut.

    And does doing ab exercising still develop the ab muscles even when you are really skinny?

  • @WeightGainNetwork I'm not so worried about bulking my abs as much as just making them ripped. I cycle all my exercises.
