We ran a monoleaf with coil assist and leaf sliders on a late model years ago. Car was dependable and predictable. Was the fastest thing out there on a dry slick track.
Also tried a cantilvered setup. WICKED FAST!!!, but hard to get the setup just right.

@KMUDD07 If you put a scale on the pull bar you could tell how much HP you have, like a big ole fish scale. Or how about a potentiometer that measures movement, the higher the voltage shown the further the bar moved, showing grip. The put a big heads up display on the windshield, oh shit, you ain't got a shield, we'll have to do projection, of the voltage number. You know your a racer when you can enjoy and evaluate a race by watchin the rear suspension work, man it just looks very smooth to me

I know some people i super streets use a setup called "fastboy setup"...google it. im not sure about modified though. They float the RR cut out some parts of the leaf spring. im not sure..didnt quit understand it.

looks like to me a housing floater like is used in drag racing , and a set of sliders , would free up the housing, but you might have to add some type of " torque arm " to control the rearend

@arizonaresident1 if you used some ajustable blocks under the perch you could dial in some , but it would be constant ,, they just started running these cars locally ,, interesting ,, don't really like them ,, trying to understand them ,,,

you can have rear steer with a leaf car....you run a slider on the LR. they are an older setup but on a tacky track they are fast! if you think about it....its like having 2 little lift arms!

what's the point of monoleaf? why not just coil? You can't have rear steer so I'm not sure what advantage you would have, besides, I don't think anyone builds these anymore

Makes alot of sense keeps the tires planted.

wow cool to look @ but really antiquated suspension setup
To a Drag Racer (me) this is strange! What are you trying to achieve by allowing the pinion angle to change whenever power is applied? Or am I missing the point? Please explain! chris

Racing on dirt you need something to cushion the engine power when you get on the gas. This spring is absorbing the tourque to keep traction in the tires.

Did you custom make you pull bar(s)

Kinda, it's a BSB pullbar that I took off decel bisquit then made my own decel rod to run uphill. The spring is custom I come up with on a spring rater.

The leaf car is a homebuilt I built. The new car is a dirtworks w/ 4/Z. Only run once so far this year, lots of rain. If your on tacky and rough definetly stick w/ z on right side.

iam not used to leaf cars. the only leaf car that i seen was vern jackson at boone the benji won so 05.
i hear there good for rough tracks

I usually tear up 4 bars when it's tacky or rough. When it slicks up they tear me up. I'm trying the 4 bar route this year, we'll see.
