  • @zuzupetals1999 There are many reasons I'd choose to see Sutton over other "Renos" though I'm not old enough to have seen Ethel. Her energy and dance are two. Patti nailed it vocally but Sutton is the first I've known to be choreographed through the whole tap sequence AND she continued to singing! I may want to see it again with Ms. Block. I'm unfamiliar with her work and no one should pass judgement on ANY show just from videos. I'd like to see different blocking, particularly in the duets.

  • @mmbr01rrf No, not Colin ... though I'm embarrassed that I didn't notice his absense, he's wearing a Captain's hat. The fadora is worn by a guy usually dancing in the back line...sweater vest, white pants. The original was a very tall man, which may be why I noticed him in the first place ... that and I dress similarly, today, LOL!

  • @mmbr01rrf Maybe @TheaterGrove was talking about the Billy Crocker character. If so, Colin Donnell was out while he appeared in a limited run of another musical for the Encore ! series. He's back now. It's been a VERY long week and we are getting close to 'dancing' time in March. Okay, I'll shut up now- lol !

  • Stephanie J Block comes in on March 15th for a six month stay as "Reno Sweeney". I saw SJB in her last two week stint in November 2011 and she was FANTASTIC! She brings a maturity to the part that Sutton doesn't have. I don't mean that in a bad way, just that SJB comes off as being an older, less "cutsie" version of Reno. I would say it's personal taste. The beauty of Broadway. Different actors have different interpretation of their roles. I just happen to like SJB in this part.

  • @mmbr01rrf Totally IGNORE everything I just posted because I realized you weren't talking about the Billy Crocker character. I just had a major brain fart, sorry. BUT Sutton is leaving after March 11th. That info is correct.

  • @TheatreGrove Colin Donnell (or 'fedora man' as you call him) was out doing an Encores Series show for several weeks. He should be back in now. But Sutton leaves March 11.

  • Two things I noticed: Fodora Man was replaced our not there that night and Sutton took the country-style break out of her voice with is great!

  • @imwickedthruandthru I think you had the same seat I had on March 31st prewiew. Incredible! Thanks for the video!

  • WHEN DOES SHE BREATHE?! I CAN'T EVEN HEAR WHEN SHE TAKES A BREATH. Good God...I will never ever be that good.

  • @cpoticha There was NOTHING reasonable about your so-called critique.
