ehh i was a little harsh there on the range rover, i know its a good off roader. what i meant was that for the money it really is not better than a jeep, and perhaps a simillar jeep (in size, grand cherokee) is better. i think it is anyway. and i know the wrangler and liberty are better.
a jeep is a better off roader than a range rover. jeep is designed for the deserts and mountains, rivers and swamps of america. the range rover was designed in england where all they have are slight gentle hills and some mud. when i go up a 5 degree angled hill, or need to go through a puddle ill be sure to buy an 85,000 range rover. when i need to cross a desert, climb a mountain, ford water, not to mention do all the things i just mentioned the range rover could do, ill buy a jeep for 30.
If you want something pretty to look at that can go further off-road than a Jeep and is far more luxurious than an Audi Q7 - get a Range Rover - or is Daddy's wallet not fat enough!?
yeah....cos a Q7 and Jeep are really in the same league. Ok a the Q7 is a pretty car that doesnt go through intense crazy rough stuff......just like a Jeep for instance. A Jeep would fall apart in 2 seconds. And come on, don't be red necks, which would you prefer to see on the drive? The Q7? Or a (rolls his eyes) Jeep? O yeah and my daddys getting a Q7, it's a beast:p
Its an Audi what dou you expected?? If you really want an allroad truck go and buy a jeep or something like that. This truck is design and funcionality
If you took the Q7 through 26 inches of water you'd hydraulic the engine and need a complete replacement. The maximum they can deal with (with the air suspension) is 21 inches. They are totally useless off-road with low profile tyres, no low range gearbox for when the rough stuff really starts and with massive overhangs on the front and rear it's pretty much stuffed before you get it off the driveway!!
It can only drive through 21 inches (53cm) with the air suspension jacked up to the max - if you take the Q7 through that depth of water you'll hydraulic the engine and end up a flooded motor that'll need a complete replacement!! This car is useless off-road with its low profile tyres, huge overhangs front and back and doesn't even come with a low range gear box for when the rough stuff really gets going!!
