    Ranked 3rd on Billboard's Year-End Top 30 Singles of 1956 chart {If it wasn't for Elvis it would have been the #1 Record of the Year; for "Heartbreak Hotel" was #1 followed by "Don't Be Cruel" at #2}

    Featured in the movie "Lisbon"...

    Mitch Miller also charted with his version in1956; it reached #19...

  • The year's #3 in 1956.

  • It was an era when most of Time Magazine covers were illustrations rather than photos. I miss that era ...

  • I remember my Dad driving our '56 Ford and him enjoying this playing on the AM radio.

  • I remember when i heard this tune the first time ---- in Lourenco Marques in Mocambique in December 1959 WOW what a holiday that was!!

  • que verga de cancion esta muy chida

  • This song was popular on the radio when I was five years old. It was the first tune that captured my ear because I thought it had this music box character of the sound in the piano. What memories. It haunted me for many years because I didn't know who did it, but I always remembered the piano part in it.

  • I love this! I was born in the 50s and only remember 1959, but I love this easy listening stuff, the more as I age.

  • forgive me if I wander...this song brings back wonderful memeorie, I was a va=ery young boy in Key West and my dad was a polished officer...we'd go to the beach (pier) and you could smell ollas of rice and garlic

  • @MagnusFogg
