My new quad line HQ Beamer arrived today, so took it out for a test flight. Unfortunately the winds were a little on the light side. (3 to 5 mph)
Since flying in light wind is pretty "boring", I decided to test the kites handling in low winds and fly around to one of my favorite oldies.
I was VERY impressed with the Beamers light wind performance. Very stable on the edges of the wind window and easy to fly, which makes this an excellent kite to teach newbies on.
One has complete control throughout the wind window at all times with the quad line setup. Landing anywhere in the wind window is also a breeze.
I can't wait for some stronger winds and really put this baby through it's paces and really test it out and have some REAL FUN. :D
(Flying to stay alive!)
Thanks Tena of Mackinaw.

  • Awesome flying, I wish I could fly like that! I'm moving up in kite size and looking at all the options available. I was planning on buying a large kite(4-5m) to have some fun. I was looking at the Ozone Flow 5 or the Beamer IV 5m. I'm thinking of going with the Beamer, looks like fun and slightly cheaper. What do you recommend? Thanks in advance and keep kiting!!

  • Thanks! ....... don't worry, you will in no time at all :)

Both the Ozone & Beamer ate excellent kites. That been said, I find the Beamer to handle better at the edge of the wind window and somewhat easier to fly.

If I was learning, I would go for the 3m Beamer myself like I have, which you can fly in winds from 4mph up to 25mph approximately. If you fly in very low winds (below 10mph) the 5m would be ideal.

    I hope that helps :)

  • HQ very good. Great control!

  • THanks! You too ...... LOVE the beach you fly at, wish I was there :)

  • Im looking for a good kite for jumping, sliding and all that fancy stuff. any suggestions?

  • It all depends on the wind conditions.

Ideally it would be great to have 2 or 3 sizes of kites for all wind conditions. In low winds around 5mph, a 5m kite will easily get you to jump and scud. A 3m kite like mine will be great for higher winds around 20mph and a 4m kite for in between winds.

Beamers are GREAT kites, reasonably priced and very stable right to the edge of the window.

    Hope that helps.

    Good Luck!

  • Hi, I got a 5m beamer.. i weigh 11stone, use the handles first, far more control with them.. I took mine out in 30 mph wind the other day, tried to show off and got thrown 15ft in the air for about 30meters down the field..

    Be carefull out there

  • nice kite but for kids ^^ i had it 3 times and then i wanted more :D bigger and powerbar

  • You can't go wrong! It's a GREAT kite and very easy to fly in all wind conditions although it can be quite a handful with winds over 20mph :)

Good Luck and congrats on your decision to buy this remarkable kite.

  • i am about to purchase this kite

and you are a damn good flyer
