Ethanol in flight fuel testing - running out of fuel at 5000 feet

FLew on Regular grade ethanol gas until it ran out them glided for about 45 seconds until the fuel transfer was done airbourne. Engire fired up on Shell V power premum gas.

Mythbusters Edition

I burned less fuel at same throttle setting than on regukar grade which tells me that you get less power from ethanol laced gasoline. The engine does not require over 87 octane due to lower compression but this proves that you get less power from ethanol laced gas........ if it cost effective? you be the judge

We tested some various brands of Canadian gasoline for ethanol.

Petro Canada Premium and regular grades

Shell V power Premium - supposed to have no ethanol

Our Liberals brought this ethanol to you as well as high hydro -- get rid of them now!.

@cisjohn2616 There's only a certain cieling the aircraft can operate at before the air/fuel ratio isn't right or just until the plane can't propel enough air.
