Sammy Ward was motown's blues man, he came from Montgomery Alabama, his older brother was in a gospel group, that also had Paul Williams father as a member, Sammy signed to Tamla in 1960, here is his single Part Time Love from 1962, this song was covered by Luther Allison in the 70's

Sammy was one of many Motown artists that didn't get the respect and promotion he should of.He was my 2nd wife's cousins uncle,about a year before his death he told me that the Motown museum in Detroit tried to charge him to get in!
