In Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs - A highlight of every episode is Ramrod's transformation from an airborne battleship into a giant robot. When the Ramrod Equalizer Unit undergoes the "Challenge Phase" it calls out its rallying cry in a heavy Western drawl, "Head 'em up, move 'em out. Power stride and ready to ride!" The Ramrod vehicle will transform into a giant robot packing an oversized six-shooter at the hip, and appears to be wearing a cowboy hat and a cape. In "Maverick Quick-draw" mode, an array of assorted cannons will be deployed at Ramrod's chest, delivering the final blow to send an Outrider "Desperado Unit" back to the Vapor Zone.

  • Ramrod's voice is Peter Cullen. AKA; Optimus Prime, AKA Voltron Narrator. Cullen sure is a legend.

  • Man, this sure takes me back to memory lane. Although Voltron's (lion force) transformation sequence is by far the best, but I also like ramrod's transformation for one logical reason: 'ITS OPTIMUS PRIME"S VOICE!'. Now how cool is that ('',)

  • @julianphelan i totally agree. shoot, i'm an adult (sometimes lol) & i still enjoy cartoons, anime and such...beats what's on network tv these days with all of the reality shows. so inspired to draw now. :)

  • The crap we used to watch as kids still beats the shit kids watch today

  • @Desolator84 maybe is because the series is a japanese animation or anime it was made back in the 80's i fotgot the exact date, the edition is so so, but in the end it was a really good series

  • lol, "we only have one shot"

looks to me like freakin' laser gatling barrage in the end

  • the series is great...but the synchronisation sucks xD...

  • EPICNESS

  • @JayMauLIVE1 Yep. Yep. Both the 1986 film and the Michael Bay films.

  • @MDthornton83 was he also in the transformers movie?

  • @mattparkman me too man. this show is one of my many faves . alongside teenage mutant ninja turtles, he man, ghostbusters (both versions), samurai pizza cats , galaxy rangers and many more. back then, cgi was never heard of, and we never did have guys like miley cyrus, katy perry and others singing out themes.

that's what we were all about. for entertainment purposes and nothing else!
