Treaditional flash toilets have been unsuccessful in most areas of Sri Lanka. Not only are they unsuitable for various tarrains and climates of the island, but also contribute to detrimental impacts

on the health and environment. as they contaminate our miniral reserves and increase the risk of water-borne disease.

The environmentally friendly echo-sanitation toilets introduced by Practical Action show us how human refuse can be safely managed, and turned into a valuable resource.

This video presents details of the eco-friendly toilet, explains where it is most suited, its cost, design, etc. It also provides technical advice on how to construct an eco-san toilet. This video will be of

special interest to Departments and Agencies working in health and sanitation, masons, users, and potential users of eco-san toilets.
