The real cause is not following the arc made by the clubhead from takeaway to the backswing motion, when returning to drop the clubhead for the impact. The golfer must be conscious (or putting it into his sub-consciousness) of that arc, but must consciously focus on hitting the ball with hand rotation when doing the follow through. Look at Jim Furyk and John Dayley, they have strange backswing; but when they do the downswing, they follow the correct arc down to the impact.

The problem is that if you have had an outside to in swing path for any length of time your left hand grip 'weakens off' to keep the clubface open through impact.......What you are talking about simplifies it too much, I think a mention of the grip is needed to REALLY help cure the dreaded over the top move!!
Thanks but if i dont mess up a few times my boss wont give me that bonus or promotion lol
