This movie was shot in Super-8 with a Nizo 560. It was taken in Berlin in 1987, close to the Wall and its environment. After that, I took a break from filming. Now by the upcoming YouTube Generation, I saw a new opportunity to show my movies again, so digitalized it and posted it here.
I was thinking about breaking through to the other side of the wall, but that happened only in my head. Nevertheless, it was colorful.

  • incredible work Balzamico!

I found your vid while seaching for footage of the night they broke through the Berlin wall.

Your work seems very current to me, and yet of course you would have had to work so much harder to achieve it than in this digital age we now live in.

    I am impressed

Your sons soundtrack is also very fitting...

On the subject of art on walls, i wonder if youve seen:

-"MUTO a wall-painted animation by BLU"

    which is also on youtube.

    its worth a look!

  • Hi MadJewelz

Thanks a lot for the flowers. The film was hard work, frame by frame and imagening the flow of pictures. It's a long time ago but I remember, that my Berlin friends were kind of jealous because I have created this film. They lived in the city for years, but they didn't take any pics of the wall! For them, the wall was just a part of city they didn't notice anymore, but for me from Sitzerland it was a great inspiration.

Thanks also for the work of BLU - incredible!

  • awesome work, you should upload a higher res version if you can~

  • sorry can't

    :-(

  • did you really film this and put this together yourself?

  • Yes, with a Super 8 Camera in Berlin. I edited it by cutting the film roll and putting it together again with glue.

I actually thought my time as a Video creator was over with the upcoming digitalized medias. But as I discovered YouTube, i decided to edit it again and convert it to a digital film. The music is played by my son and his friend.
