This is one reason why I don't like everything Vista has done to the Windows wold. I'm not saying that Vista is a complete failure, but I've noticed most of the "important" settings have failed to show up. I'm not even much of a fan of XP, but I'm content with it. All of the new stuff waists all of the memory it requires. Microsoft needs to develop compatibility, but also needs to include settings for expert users too. We're not ALL three year olds.

Speech recognition ain't that bad if you go through all of the setup process so it recognizes your voice and how you talk.

BTW ambient noise would be the echo from the mic the guy talks into.

I'm not totally defending Vista and saying it has no problems, I'm just saying this is basically "hardware incompatibility" not "Vista oops".
