I live under occupying Soviets for many years in DDR-they were rude and uneducated-maybe from kolkholz? I have no great love for Communists or State Security. I am happy the Soviet Union collapse. Respond to this video... Very good video. Now I know what East- Berlin look like today. Much different than when I live there in 1970s. When I live in DDR, as child, we would take holidays to Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Romania, Bulgaria and Soviet Union. Fun and educational. Our FDJ group went to Bulgaria to study met nice people in Sofia.

@sneighwena That ist interesting! Just goes to show that history is fluid. In our books in Germany (I am from Berlin-East) what i had told you had been taught to us. I guess it was so long ago - before Prussia - that no one really remembers. We really do not even know the founding year of Berlin. The Nazis made up a year (AD 1231) and that year has remained as founding year since. Mit vielen dank, mein Freund! Alles fur Deutschland und ich bin Berliner-da kikste wa!!

@4everRomanovs In studying the slavic history of Germany, you will note that half of German toponyms (all east of the Elbe river) are in fact Slavic in origin and just Germanized. Inhabitants also had been Germanized and it continues to this day. Look up Polabian Slavs. Where do you think the name Milzener comes from? Milzener is named after the slavic tribe called Milčané. The root MIL is very important root word in slavic especially the Serbs who are distantly related to the Sorbs of Germany.
