Hopefully as an mp4, this upload won't take 2000+ mins -__-

As much as I would like to record something again, I really need a proper microphone stand to go with my new mic in order to record at school (camera tripod won't fit in my dorm room). Since that might take a few weeks, in the meantime here's something I whipped up a week or so back. Indeed, though it may be hard to believe, there *is* another side to clarinet playing than Vocaloid covers, and I think some of you may be interested in that :) To all the others, sorry to disappoint :P

Playing the following pieces by C.M.v. Weber:

Introduction, Theme and Variations Op. Posth. (Intro, Theme, Var. I, III, IV and VII)
Clarinet Concerto no. 2 Op. 74 (a bit of Mvt. III)

I didn't plan on putting this up, but I figured it was better than nothing for a long while (and IMO sounds pretty nice, for the most part XD). Certainly, Weber's clarinet pieces are for the most part showpieces through and through. Very fun to play, but also effective at inducing headaches by how technically difficult they can be. As such, I had to cheat a bit and splice together different takes in the final variation of the first piece, and one part in the concerto :)

Screw-ups are plenty, from forgetting the notes to really obnoxious squeaks T_T But, I hope you enjoy it anyway ^_^

  • Listen to you, tearing up those 16th & 32nd notes like it's nothing. It's beautiful! Well, minus the squeaks, but who cares? We all squeak every once in a while. Great job!

  • @RHSClarinetForLife I think the key phrase is "*like* it's nothing" :P Cause I can't even begin to describe how much trouble I had on some of those parts XD

  • so pretty~ *o*

  • @ShokatsuryouKomei Thanks Shoko! :)

  • Perhaps you could send me sheets to that as well! It sounds very fun and the melody is pretty sweet as well!

  • @linnaes Lol same here. Sometimes I'm dead after school or I just came home late.

After 5 o'clock I can't practice any instrument or else my neighbours are start to complain xD.

  • @shinka1911 Thanks Shinka! If I had the time, I'd probably do 3 hours a day until my chops are completely dead XD But now that school's back and I've been recently banned from practicing in my dorm room, I'd say on average 1 hour a day :)

  • @shinka1911 great technique also. How many hours do you practice clarinet a day?

  • very beautiful

  • @TheMangaMary Haha thank you, glad I can help out :) Yep, my tongue was also really slow in the past, but you just gotta think about limiting the motion to the very tip of the tongue, and make as little and light contact with the reed as possible. That way you can speed it up.

Well, my playing *was* very sloppy at times, and the classical crowd's pretty hard to please XD
