The Vietnam War was a decade-long struggle that humbled America. It has never before been told start to finish purely as a first person military chronicle: the raw, horrifying war as experienced by the men who fought it, believing they were there to win. Their experiences revolve around "tipping points", affecting the crucial events that shaped military decisions and, ultimately, determined the outcome of the war. From the rise of Ho Chi Minh in 1959 and the subsequent formation of the Vietcong to the deadly battle in La Drang valley in 1965 through to the quagmire of the Vietnam War in the late 1960s and its eventual conclusion in 1975.

  • Number means nothing. Public sentiment means nothing. US were obliged to quit Vietnam and lost this war, that's it. This is only History, with big H.

  • This documentary was a revisionist Bush-o-rama crowd pleaser. "We actually won this war" they say in this quagmire of pseudo facts... blaming the loss on the anti-war crowd and commie journalists like Walter Cronkite. It must have garnered a lot of dough and consideration from the neo-cons. I would like to personally greet the producers mano a mano as a 65 year old ex-sgt in the us army 1967-69.

  • @tofeinstein vietnam was a clusterfuck

  • Its Red Foreman!

  • Youtube is of the emerging free speech modes. Celebrate youtube and be grateful y'all.

  • @asianwannabeamerican and exactly what is it you think he did for you? shoot gooks on sight and stop the spread of communism? You're thanking him for following the orders of a gov't that was wholesale lying from start to finish. I can't believe that there are still people who actually have faith in the bullshit the government tells after all this. "Liberal hippies" didn't lose the war, they just made it harder for the gov't to try to say they won. Now go to walmart and support commie china.

  • @vatonaught Of course, what the hell else did you expect the mainstream media to do? report the truth? As far as the corpogov't is concerned, the biggest mistake with vietnam was that they televised it and told everyone the truth. I guess they never thought everyone would see through the "get commie" bullshit they'd been spoonfeeding people.

Even if everyone was kept in the dark back then like we are about the 'war on terror",it would still be lost, they'd just be able to revise history easier.

  • wars are all about money these days.

  • Sir, I respect what you say even though I disagree with it because you know everything first hand as a soldier. While you may not appreciate what you did, I do. I thank you for what you tried to do for me.

  • If you go by the numbers we won. If we go by public sentiment we lost.

  • USA lost that is fucking okay
