The setting for the story is northwest Montana, near the Idaho and Canadian borders; but it was actually shot on locations in Cuernavaca, Mexico; Banff, Alberta, Canada; Canmore, Alberta, Canada; Kananaskis Country, Alberta, Canada; Stoney Reservation, Alberta, Canada; and Yoho National Park, British Columbia .. love this movie .. seen it so many times .. only wish l could go through that waterfall and never return .. beautiful movie

Finally, someone who was part of it....Hey Gehardgehmann. In 2000 they were gathering the former cast for a sequel. You wouldn't know what happened to those plans would you?....In Mexico everyone enjoyed the night shoot.

this movie was shot in Mexico and Alberta. Canmore Alberta, Kananaskis, and Moreley....I was the construction manager on the Canada part of the shoot....it was a lot of fun to work on. I met the love of my life in Canmore while working on this....

Really? Wow, that must be quite amazing. The film is supposed to take place in Montana, but I guess it was actually shot in Alberta, wasn't it? Could you let me know exactly where are the places that you visited?
