Avoiding crap is a lifelong , full-time occupation, but I prefer to just care about entertainment- it's what I do- not how good something allegedly is or isn't. Sting said that as pop musicians, what we do isn't like serious musicians erecting cathedrals, that what we do is better likened to constructing sheds. I create and assemble-perform and record- sonic sheds, sometimes being embarrassed less than a year later. I write bubblegum and older fare, just trying to entertain and express feeling.

Obviously you're not listening to the good music of today. There was crap music back then and there is today as well. The trick is to avoid the crap and gavitate toward the quality music. In the past week I've listened to Vivaldi, Notorious BIG, Petula Clark and MGMT. Open your mind!
