Montreal Visit, October 2011

I visited Kate and Josh the last weekend in October. Although the time flew by it was crammed with special memories! I heard about the Jireh Gospel Choir through one of my guests Sarah Lozie who stayed here with her folks in summer 2010. I was determined to make it to Montreal to hear them ( and Sarah ) some day. It was a powerful performance, blew me away!
Turns out the conductor Carol Bernard is friends with Karen and Oswald Burke ( TMC ) and is married to Ted Dettweiller, the king of Menno farmer sausage! Anyone who has had a teen at Eden High School knows what I'm talkin' about! That's Ted in the back row singing his heart out, who knew?? Went to supper at their place and apparently they do not eat farmer sausage at every meal...
Read some old love letters written from my dad and mom 62 years earlier ( not 60 as written in the video). The first letter Kate took out of the box was written 62 years earlier to the day - Thursday, Oct.27, 1949. Amazing!
Scripture and song on Sunday morning at the little Mennonite church. Unvarnished, real harmonies. Golden light, leaves and tunes drifting on a balmy breeze, new friends. Poutine. St.Viateur bagels. My dear daughter Kate and son-in-law Josh, time with them was precious indeed...
