These are my two John Mayer strats. In the video, they sound the same but they actually sound slightly different.

I should have mic'd the amp and recorded the audio that way but I don't know how to place that audio file over a video AND have the two be synchronized perfectly. I know how to place audio over a video but how do I sync them up without just eyeballing it? There's got to be a method to doing this precisely. Anyone know?

Used a Reissue Fender Blues Deluxe for an amp. Only a 6 ft DiMarzio cable was between the amp and guitar.

  • there is absolutely no difference in the setup though except for the paint job. They might have a tiny diff just because all guitars are diff but there is no difference in woods pickups or anything. Or did you change something on one of them maybe???

  • you're 100% right. no difference. but, yeah, wood is organic so no two are exactly the same.

    Since this vid was made though, i changed the pickups on the white one to texas specials. now the two guitars do sound noticeably different. i'll post a new vid comparing the two soon.

  • rich boy

  • i wish, son.

  • Like the tone of the Olympic White one better.

  • i just replaced the pickguard and electronics with texas specials on the white one. (i'm keeping the original assembly so i can make it stock if I like).

    i'll be posting a video comparing the two when i have some time.

  • How limited is the Mayer stratocaster with the racing stripe?

  • @Fillesmusic it was a limited run (;

  • youre too rich... do you still have those big dippers that were in there? i wanna buy them C;

  • where can you get the first one???...i cant find it anywhere except ebay

  • Man... ur playing is great, and that tone is divine! I found myself jamming over this video!

  • @ARocketToTheStars its called working.

  • Haha the random tuning in the middle!

  • Mayer would never play a Blues fender tweed! ALso no bending issues, even on an old school radius with a good set up there is no bending issues! But these are modern

  • amazing!

  • @AlexanderHasford technically the Shoreline Gold wasn't a limited edition. It was made for a couple of years, in unlimited numbers and then discontinued. I've never heard of people running into bending issues with these. With the 9.5 radius and tall frets mine never frets out
