I agree that free, easily accessed information and the respect for each other are important aspects when it comes to approaching the singularity. Commercial interests, whether it be for control of profit or land stands in the way from full democratization, but my view was immensity changed upon understanding Dr. Ray Kurzweils predictions. Throughout history, information has continued to grow exponentially, and we are reaching the knee of this exponential curve.
