Un caso grave di Sindrome delle Apnee Notturne.
Soggetto di 41 anni, con problemi di russamento da molti anni. L'osservazione notturna evidenzia episodi pressoché continui di apnee (30-40"), intervallati da 5-8 atti ventilatori molto rumorosi. Da notare che durante la fase finale dell'apnea compaiono "gasping", cioè movimenti del diaframma a faringe chiusa, che non comportano passaggio di aria, ma solo movimenti paradossi della gabbia toracica, con scuotimento del corpo.
A severe case of Sleep Apnea Syndrome, with apnea episodes lasting 30-40 sec., followed by 5-8 very noisy respiratory acts. Before these, "gaspings" can be seen, as a result of dyaphragm contractions with closed lower pharynx.
