Just after sunset on December 28th, 2009, BNSF's Alliance based rotary is just north of Hastings, Nebraska, and is about finished clearing the Glitner Subdivision. The next day will find the rotary working the Lester Subdivision before heading back to Alliance to wait for the next call to duty.
Extremely beautiful view - good Cameraman!

I went to the diesel shop today. Looks like the Lincoln Crew Unwired some of the Safteys. That among other things keeps the plow from being over revved and to control the ground relay in the traction motors that push the blade. They are going to try and limp it along. IT IS CALLED AGAIN, possibly going east/north? Mechanical Plow Crew is on alert to go which is bags packed for a week and waiting by the door to go. It has other major issues, but will have to wait for now. She is needed elsewhere!

It won't be going back to work anytime soon. The Lincoln Operating crew that ran it KILLED it. They did not know how to use it. The last word from the Alliance diesel shop is it will be down a month. In the middle of SNOW SEASON. 7 dead GEVOS, 1 dead GEVO in train and 3 trains still down on the Ravenna Line. The units are in Alliance for damage assesment along with the plow waiting for them to thaw out. All becasue BNSF was too cheap to send the Mechanical crew with it. SO how cheap is it NOW?
