@Thelongmanable Posts which use absolutes are an automatic warning of exaggerated hype. Your post, which somewhat exaggerates the situation in the publishing industry, is riddled with grammatical errors, typos, and punctuation errors. If you ever tried submitting such awful writing with such bonehead mistakes, it's no wonder that indeed, you didn't stand a chance. Work on that before lazily blaming the industry. Then you can complain a bit.

There is no chance in hell you will ever make it pass the query letter stage of getting a agent or publishing company to request you manuscript. So why the hell worry about editing. There is this thing called editors that are suppose to help you with this yet only the Mafia apart of the social network get published so dont worry to much about it. Our country is run by the Mafia the video is a complete and utter waste of your life and time.

I disagree with one of the points made here; professional publishers do not necessarily do decent editing. My first book was published by a major. The book was copy-edited by the publisher but they missed a lot of basic errors. But the book sold well, which allowed for a lot of feedback from readers who pointed out many of the errors. The publisher waited until the 3rd printing to do decent editing.
I wish more writers would watch and HEED the statements here about the need for professional editing of their manuscripts. Self publishing is looked down on by the industry because writers want to be published quickly and fail to realize QUALITY is more important than speed of publication or selfish pride about having someone "touch" their words.
