  • That is the sexiest sounding Venus EVER. Is there a recording with her in the role???

  • i LOVE Tatiana.

  • I remember in this tale virgim Mary comes to save him, any man would prefer Venus!

  • She's a perfect Venus. Onegin, you have the greatest collection!

  • Better Cassilly than most of the terrible Tannhauser's during the 40's until today. Cassilly was a very fine singer in his prime and for me the best Grimes after Pears, anyway he sang this fiendish role and did not cause uproar at the Royal Opera House london because he could not sing it, like one other Tenor who signed a contract but in fact could not sing the role and made an excuse that because of his religion he would not sing it.

  • So beautiful! Lovely Tatiana and we miss you. Thanks so much for this post. Brought tears to my eyes.

  • Tatiana is abosolutely gorgeous!

  • Tatiana !!

  • Do you know this role? Did you listen to this? Cassilly's soft singing and diminuendos here are beautiful compared to most Tannhausers. Most dramatic tenors never touch this role it's so difficult. This is a very musical Tannhauser and if you knew how hard it was and how many wonderful performances this man gave over the years, you'd forgive a few notes in his later years. He'd been singing Wagner for 30 years. He'd have been the first to admit some fatigue here. Saddens me to see such criticism

  • It is great that they performed the Pariser Fassung! Coul you post the rest of it?
