Exactly, I've got a few scoped out already, and it'll increase the odds of being able to drive up. We hiked over 10 miles in the sun to set up camp and then had a nearly full day of festival...
Deb still hasn't completely recovered from the dehydration.

I think early setup would work, at least you would have a "choice" camp site..:)

We got two decent full days out of the festival, just arrived in mud and left in hail. Next time we'll either skip the camping or be amoung the first people on the hill for early camp setup.

Awesome! Looks like the rain stopped long enough for one song anyway..:)

Wow, nice! I read the comments about the hardships - it sounds as though you have good ideas to make it better next time. :)

It was definitely an adventure... Have you seen any of the hailstorm videos?

No, I haven't. I'll go hunt for them. Some videos don't show in my list even tho I'm subbed. It's weird.

The best storm vids on it are by other people. If you put Falcon Ridge Hail Storm in the vid search three good ones should be right on top.

Okay, so I searched Falcon Ridge Hail and wow! There are a lot! One was marked mini tornado and really showed how hard the hail was coming down as well as how high the wind was. And oh, the mud! Wow. I'm on the west coast and my camping is done where I might get wind and dust, but never wetness. The entire time I watched the videos I just kept searching for solutions and failing. That is some rough camping...

We got pinned down (on the main stage hill) under our umbrellas for the major blast of hail, wind and driving rain that took down the big cafeteria tent. Fortunately we'd already packed our campsite and moved the truck to day parking.
