Who needs fancy, expensive controllers for performing music when all you need to do is light up? In this blurry video taken, as always, on my Blackberry, I demonstrate how to control Ableton Live with a cigarette. An X-box camera with a piece of exposed film over the lens filters out almost all but IR (which the cigarette broadcasts). CCV tracks the cherry and sends the data over to the multi-touch Flash UI I'm building. Flash is actually running "inside" (more or less) Max/MSP, to which I send custom messages that are relayed to MIDI-Yoke. I have MIDI-Yoke set as my input in Live. Voila!
This demo is a precursor to the (easily customizable) multi-touch MIDI controller I'm building in Flash.
that is pretty impressive,
where can i find out more on this multi-touch midi controller your building good sir?
