bruce lee was quite right abt saying tht kung fu already had techniques quite similar to judo and ju jutsu and its is considered to be in animal style grapplings. praying mantis, tiger, monkey. animal dont fight just striking but also grapple n wrestle. kungfu has grappling and striking. the monks could fight in wars against chin/manchu armies because they knew complete kungfu. even the rebels who were against manchus were shaolin kungfu practitioners and learned real kungfu in shaolin temples..

@BluePittbull666 Stupid, you dont know Sanda kung fu??? many kung fu practicer learn about ir... and kung fu is very complete..., more than many other artes... the problem is that take a lot of time to learn it...
-
he is not using a single kung fu skill in this match.
just shows how useless kung fu is in practical fight.

I have to chip in. Kung Fu does NOT work in the ring. I have studied Kung Fu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, Muay Thay (a little), boxing, wrestling, Tae Kwon Do, and Capoeira, and the only place Kung Fu works is in the street. You grab the throat and twist. You headbutt. You kick the kneecap. You palm the throat. This is streetfighting, not cage fighting. Any person who compares cage fighting to real life is comparing School House Rock to the complexities of Congress.

Under the sports oriented rules of MMA and other suchs competitions, Kung Fu loses most of its defining attributes and is left with punching, kicking and grappling, of course that using these rules, all styles look almost the same. Traditional Kung Fu can only be used on the street without rules, because it is originally a self-defense and survival method, not an entertainment. Kung Fu for sports is called Sanda. Muay Thai, for example, is the safe, sports version of Muay Boran.

Haha... I just love how all those years of fancy Kung Fu style goes out the window and good old fashioned takedown and ground-n-pound wins the fight... Kung fu in MMA? Nope - just kung fool "masters" using what actually works - basic takedowns, control and ground-n-pound.

Kung Fu guys all look the same once they step in the cage.
Ground and Pound MANTIS STYLE!!!

@ch1ndrag0n you do know that kung fu teaches grappling, right? you know that jujitsu is not the only grappling art?
-
although i did not see much praying mantis style here, but is a good display of guard passing and ground and pound
good job respect

Glad to see there are still Kung Fu guys willing to test themselves in MMA. Good for this guy. Hopefully he can serve as an example of what to do and how to train for many CMA practitioners.
Looks pretty good! If you don't mind my asking what's that praying manits all about?
