I just find it funny that such and un-feminist nation as Japan enjoys putting strong female lead characters in their manga, anime, etc. And a feminized nation such as America has strong leading males in the entertainment media. I think the Japanese are playing with fantasies and still making sex objects out of the women through their media, whereas America is just being traditional and narrow.

No offesive man but you got a lot of things wrong about the plot of Black Lagoon. The Russians are Ex military The army left them a long time ago they are not affiliated with the army any more. I'm just currious how you got the immipresion that there secret ops which they are not. Second Roberta the maid works for a wealthy family not a cartel.

"unheard of" isnt that a little extreme there are strong female characters in america comics i think american fans just prefer superhero books
kurumais 2 years ago
Which speaks to the culture of manga as opposed to american comics. That's all I was trying to say. Of course there are strong characters in American comics, but not near to the level of manga, hence, the greater number of female manga readers which appears to outnumber female readers of mainstream comics. I mean, this ain't rocket science guys. More girls read manga because they feel better represented in those books than in the US comic market.

And when you say 'American fans' what you're really saying is MALE comic readers.

Another solid episode guys, by the way J. you be happy to know I dropped New Avegers in favor of Detective Comics. Just been feeling that my money would be better spent on a 3.99 book that has more content to one that has less content for the same price.

That's good to hear zcorp. Detective was totally worth the price. Way more so than NA. Taat art in Detective was absolutely beautiful. We will probably do a review of it tomorrow.
