this is a general overview of my favorite model ruger .22, the 22/45 with fixed 3 dot combat sights, great for tactical training or carry as a secondary option.

  • this is the model i have been looking into buying. i like the idea of 3-dot sights rather than the adjustable sights. are the sights steel or plastic? seems like the perfect .22 pistol

  • @armed2theteethH420 steel, and ruger now sells them so any of the 22/45's can be converted.

  • @smithjacusmc nice. think you can make a video of how to disable the magazine safety? im ordering mine tomorrow. out the door for $310

  • @armed2theteethH420 I would but I cannot risk any retribution for being un certified and telling people how to do something that is possibly dangerous. If not done carefully it will make your weapon unsafe. If you download some diagrams and look at how it works with the barrel removed you can see what needs to be done. basically there is a spring to move and a lever to replace with a spacer/washer.

  • I just bought a S&W 22a stainless...it has that mag safty feature also..but it still ejects mags out well and has a very light smooth trigger....But i am thinking of getting one of these also...can't beat the price of shooting 22lr compared to 9mm or others

  • @3255959 the S&W 22A is an awesome shooter also, I have had some of them, liked them, I especially like the mag release and take-down

  • @smithjacusmc understandable. thanks for the info

  • @smithjacusmc I pick up my new ruger 4.5'' slab blued barrel next week...mines one of those they make for another distributer it comes with cherry colored grips looks sweet...My local gunshop sold it to me for $300 out the door..yes i do love the SW 22a take down its easier then my glock and thats hard to beat...

  • Good review. For some reason ,it seems that the 22/45's field strip & reassemble a lot easier than the mark 3's. Must be the Poly frame. I'm gonna trade my mark 3 for that same exact 22/45 model you have. I'm like you , always trading guns.

  • @kgradio thanks, glad to help out.
