  • There is a very precise method to find out about the 440Hz. Just touch the edge of the bridge with the pitch fork as it gives the sound over to the violin. Then tune the a string to it until the sound /energy of the pitch fork will be absorbed by the violin just because the string is in perfect tune with the pitch fork. You can hear that immediately and then stop moving the peg upwards or downwards. Maybe this to hear needs some experience but after a while tuning is very easy and quick.
