...UPDATE - packing tape doesn't like boiling water! The packet reliquified fine, but the liquid was pouring out it as the tape failed...it's in a ziplock until I figure out a better adhesive...(hot glue?!!) Yes, I can just toss it - it was only $5 or 6 to start with...!

I LOVE these, and have 6 packets I purchased from Lee Valley Tools (in Canada)...tonight, I had one in my jacket pocket to use later in the evening. When I went to fish it out, I discovered that the plastic cover had split open at the side and there was sodium acetate in my pocket...(wool blend coat, ouch)...I've taped it back up and it's presently boiling in the pot to recharge it - we'll see if it still works...

how much pressure do u have to apply to the disk? cuz i perss pretty hard and it doesnt move, its like ice. and when imelt it back down, it turns into a little but as it cools down it solidifies again, so its like useless, do u have any ideas?

Can you only buy them online? If not what stores hold them? These are really neat! And I'm really cold...
