This old piece of timber was found along the River Thames during construction work and at one time formed part of a Roman wharf along the riverbank. It somehow found its way to underneath the portico of this church, St. Magnus the Martyr, in the City, one block south of the Monument to the Great Fire of London.

  • Hmm, you shouldn't even be allowed to touch that!! Some serious heritage issues there haha

  • I don't know why my voice is out of sync with the video.

I read about this oddity in a travel book. I'm sure there are heritage issues, just as there is with the London Stone being in a sport shop!

  • omg plz dont mention the monument i was dead after climbing that thing but the view is abolutely stunning so its worth the 300+ spiral steps

  • St Magnus' bones are under glass at St Martin of Tours Church in Louisville, KY, USA...along with St Bonesa. It's quite a site to see. The entire church is remarkable
