Touring the Toronto Transit Commission's Eglinton Bus Garage during the 2009 Doors Open Toronto event that took place on Saturday, May 23, 2009.
Located on Comstock Road between Warden Avenue and Pharmacy Avenue, the Eglinton Bus Garage was built in 2002 to replace two existing bus garages; old Eglinton Bus Garage and the Danforth Bus Garage. Eglinton Garage consists of 121,000 square feet, situated on a 15.7 acre site and has a capacity of 270 buses. The facility is equipped with two bus wash racks, 12 indoor repair spaces and an outdoor bus storage area equipped with a UWE system. Eglinton Garage is responsible for the maintenance of Commission buses based at its division. Minor body and paintwork as well as other repairs are performed on buses at this facility. Eglinton Garage is also responsible for the daily operation of its bus routes that mostly serve the east end of Toronto.
The Eglinton Bus Garage continues to contribute to the daily operations of the Toronto Transit Commission and provides invaluable public transit service to the City of Toronto.

@CallumMonkeyMan There are 2 ways for members of the public to visit a TTC facility. 1) Public tours are offered by the TTC where people can tour different facilities throughout the year. 2) Since 2009 the TTC has been participating in Doors Open Toronto. Keep an eye on the Doors Open Toronto web site around April to early May to see which facility the TTC will open to the public. Google TTC tours and Doors Open Toronto 2012 to find the web sites for more info.
