One day after his birthday, Howard gets a call from Air Florida following the crash of Flight 90 into the 14th Street Bridge in Washington. The call was not responsible for his firing from the station. Howard was let go in June 1982 because he signed a contract with WNBC.

@1357davide I think it's funny because he isn't making fun of the passengers or pilots who died. He's making fun of the airline that deserved it for allowing a poorly trained flight crew to operate a aircraft in a situation they couldn't handle. I think this is actually respectful to the people who died because it focuses criticism where it belongs. I would think the same thing if I had family on the flight or had been on the flight myself.

I wasn't talking specifics, but you are, and you seem to be very hurt about something. I suggest you take that empathy somewhere else. It doesn't matter what this man was trying to get a laugh out of, his message is purely satirical. And if you can't understand that then you are pretty damned misguided. Think about this for a second...If your mother was brutally rundown and killed by a cab she was hailing and Stern said "what a funny way to get the cabbies attention more people ought to try it, maybe it would help the population explosion in DC" That would be TRAGIC not funny or entertaining...
