  • Come on down to Champaign, IL...and I'll show you one heck of an elderly organist who can play the Allen like I've never seen. You would enjoy her. She's a wonderful person and loves people.

  • they played this at my church today (LCMS). Easily one of my favorite hymns!

  • I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (October 25, Reformation Sunday), I played this as the Hymn of the Day. It is 596-597 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship. I played it to MELITA, composed by John B. Dykes. Just thought I'd share.

  • Melita (The Navy Hymn) is also sometimes used.

  • Hello, Like Cornwall59, I've never heard this tune before - we're both English! We use either 'Solid Rock' ( Bradbury) or St. Catherine (Hemy). But, hey, it's good: Praise the Lord!

  • Nice playing ! good sounding organ, i dont know this version, but i like it all the same, the one i play is in the Sacred songs & solos bk, i always call it the Sankey bk,no.902, composed by W. B. Bradbury, have a look, Best wishes, from Cornwall, UK.
