Here is a video of what I do in the offseason from real racing. It's slot car racing 1/24 1/24th scale. The track is based off of Raceway Park. We race Late Model cars from the 60's and 70's and also "Outlaw" Late Model cars. This is a video from an Late Model feature race when we ran on April 6th, 2007

  • surely whoever has the inside track aways wins

  • Each race is 4 segments. Every driver runs the same amount of time in each lane to even things out.

  • indeed. i don't see any crossovers. and that whole everyone gets an even time in each lane aproach is stupid.

this isn't racing of any kind.

  • Why is it stupid? Works for us and every other slot car track I have been to.

  • it's not a race! it's basically a series of timed stages. there's no realism, no skill and, for me, no fun.

so everyone you know in the slotcar community uses this system? the guy saying 3,2,1 and sighing a lot doesn't seem to be enjoying himself.

i really wasn't trying to upset you, i didn't even think youd respond personally. just put it out there as a point of discussion.

  • I'm not upset, was just getting your opinion on why you thought it was stupid. It's not like RC racing where you control every move your car makes. I thought your profile said you were from the UK so maybe it's different down there. The 3-2-1 guy is running the power switch to the track by the lane counters. Most nights we don't have that many cautions. This was one of the nights we did. I see your point, this is just the way we do it though.

  • @odysseas897 yer i got a proper track 2 tier, got 14 corners that u cant go flat out round so u need to have some skill, n both lanes are equal distance so you can have a proper race, Besides my comment was right read the comments below it says they run a series of heats n u run on each rail then add the times, n why is that........ Cos whoever has the inside track wins,

not my idea of racing but each to there own i guess

  • @lezbrucelee have you ever played with slot cars??? you sound pretty unfamiliar with the subject...:P

  • all looks loike fun to me , well done! love slot cars , nice fast track with a system that works , nuffin wrong with that, have fun guys!

  • @lezbrucelee That's not necessarily true. While the inside lane has a shorter distance to travel, it has a tighter turn, so the driver needs to back off more. The driver on the outside can go faster without crashing.

    ...and don't call me Shirley.

  • @trackspike64 Or better yet, try your hand at Group 7 racing. . .

  • @Hubs88 I did. Ran Group 7s (One Motor Open) for about three years. . .

  • They used to have a place a couple towns over that I would go to with my dad and brother. I wish it was still around 'cause I would definitely get back into it!

  • yes I have....that's why I don't walk into someone's backyard and kick their dog. Maybe you meant no harm so some tact may be in order.

  • @retirednavydude have you ever heard of objectivity? or 'logic'?

  • @pjsmoulder Apparently some folks who watch and comment know nothing about slot car racing....so when in doubt it is usually best to saying nothing at all vise diving in and pissing everyone off that knows how it's done and what they are watching. This is a bad ass track and looks like a blast.!!!
