FDR: I Welcome Their Hatred

From an FDR 1936 campaign speech in Madison Square Garden:
"For nearly four years you have had an Administration which instead of twirling its thumbs has rolled up its sleeves. We will keep our sleeves rolled up.
We had to struggle with the old enemies of peace—business and financial monopoly, speculation, reckless banking, class antagonism, sectionalism, war profiteering.
They had begun to consider the Government of the United States as a mere appendage to their own affairs. We know now that Government by organized money is just as dangerous as Government by organized mob.
Never before in all our history have these forces been so united against one candidate as they stand today. They are unanimous in their hate for me—and I welcome their hatred.
I should like to have it said of my first Administration that in it the forces of selfishness and of lust for power met their match. I should like to have it said of my second Administration that in it these forces met their master."

How did FDR not get accused of being a socialist?
Oh right, FOX news was only launched in 1996...

This great American hero died the year before my father was born. I am so glad that FDR had to forsight to establish Social Security and all the other safety net measures that he put in place. He was a politician with an eye on America's long term future....unlike so many self serving politicians today. God bless you FDR and keep you!

He was just as much a puppet of the banksters as any of the rest of them. He was bloodline, and every word he was saying was campaign rhetoric. He forced the people to turn in their gold to the government, or go to prison. He sold us all into slavery---to an even greater extent than we already were. Social Security was/is one of the methods used to further enslave us. So, was the birth certificate. To those who don't believe what I am saying here, all I can say is do the research for yourself.

Yes, FDR had the foresight to create Social Security. Now which President is going to have the balls to fix it before it's bankrupt?

I wish that we had FDR today. Both parties are now just corporate puppets, who believe that the people be damned!
