HOW WILLIAM SHATNER CHANGED THE World reveals how scientists who were inspired by Star Trek as children are surpassing the science fiction vision of the future foreshadowed in the program. The two-hour High Definition special explores how much of the sci-fi of Star Trek now permeates everyday life and advanced science.

Hosted and narrated by William Captain Kirk Shatner and based on his book Im Working On That.

    When I was little, my dad and I used to watch Enterprise together. That and the Star Wars prequels coming out at the same time inspired me to become an aerospace engineer. I can't wait to start college and continue on my road to my nerdy dream!

    Shatner came up with all the ingenious scientific tech stuff and explained all the science to Roddenberry so he could write the stories around it.

    That is very true. But I think they used Shatner's name because he's a lot more famous to the lay audience.
