@hammerogod Evolution is a well established fact, I am a Theistic Evolutionist, I believe God use evolution to create life, in my perspective, but I am going to ask you a favor, help me debate this atheist, in this same channel, on the Backyardprofesor newest video. "Easter Message 2011" watch?v=0MpTMCpNVqI&feature=ch
annel_video_title If you help me, and you are successful, I will have MORE respect for you.
Thanks, see you there

@TheSkepticChristian Evolution? Theory of? Sure. As a working Theory it answers some questions...but only a few...not all by any means. And it fails to describe some important processes It will never replace a God centered and God created Cosmology. I believe that God created a "Dynamic" system. There is room in that "System" for many permutations, causes and effects. Darwinian "Evolution" is a Fail if it is used to replace a Creator with random chance and cosmic accidents. Is that an answer?

@hammerogod True, so far we have found nothing that will prove the Book of Mormon, but like I said, I find no strong evidence against the Book of Mormon either. And there are evidences that support the Book of Mormon, but no need for peer review, because we don't' claim that we have proof. Yes, I see, you are the first one ever to attempt to take my challenge. Do you believe in Theory of Evolution?? By the way, I live near las cruces.

BYU has turned out enough people trained in Linguistics, Archaeology, Sociology and other related disciplines to cover all of Meso-America 3 ft deep in scholarly humanity.
So...if they discover anything of merit while doing what every honest person must admit is agendized research I will hold up a banner that says "The Mormons found something to base their claims on".
But not until then.
BTW:
I am still putting together some stuff for you ~ re: your challenge.

@hammerogod there are evidences, but not proof, otherwise faith wouldn't be necessary. BOM hasn't been proven archaeologically, but there is no strong evidence against it either .We don't know much about the Pre-classic Maya,(give me a list of names of kings, during pre-classic Maya times, take my new challenge?) Name inscriptions have not been decipher yet, were BOM places are proposed to be. We still don't know much about pre-classic Maya, were scholars think BOM people were among them

If you consider that the entire set of LDS Doctrines stands or falls on Joseph and Joseph alone the LDS must find evidence that supports Joseph's histories, contentions, hagiographies. chronologies, interpretations etc...or, after spending untold sums of Mormon tithes, it all falls apart, people walk away.
Mormons are not stupid.
Credibility & Accountability are very much at issue now .
Joseph's, FARMS' and BYU's.
Mormons are asking better questions now.
Pressure is on.

Recent research has opened speculation that every Species that exists today has existed all along.
It's a matter of shifting Dominance rather than one Species transforming (advancing, transitioning) into another unique Species.
There is no completely satisfying explanation for Speciation that holds up under observation.
Natural Selection may be a red herring.
To start I would recommend you research Harvesting Effect, genetic drift and non-adaptive change.

IF you didn't know there are believing Mormon Egyptologists, and PhD Historians.
-
@hammerogod They are not trying to prove the Book of Mormon, or Mormon beliefs. If they were, then it would be fair to ask those kind of questions. They are just looking for evidence that supports the Book of Mormon, but not to prove it, its not supposed to be proven. Ask theoretical physicists to send their claims to peer review. Now I have a challenge for you,
Explain AB resistance or Plant speciation without using The theory of evolution

I would love to see any credentials the BYP has. Just what is your Educational base? Where did you get your Education? What Degrees do you have" What Diciplines can you prove you have acceptable Specializations in or Knowledge of? You pretend to be a "Scholar" but your presentation of the evidence (or non-evidence in this case) is totally non-professional. I can speculate. I can fabricate. I can make assumptions. I think you do that often. But real proof is the criteria for passing the test.
When a Mormon faces a camera and admits that the Book of Abraham is busted I may find some respect for Mormons.
Why is it so difficult to admit that Joseph was wrong?
What keeps Mormons from seeing the truth?
Nothing the LDS has produced so far (from any region of the world) has passed even the most cursory peer review.
Most (if not all) Mormon 'discoveries' have never even been seen by sources outside of FARMS.
There is a fish in all this and the Mormons can't smell it.

@hammerogod
When a critic faces the camera and admits they don't know what they are talking about, then I will have respect for them. Man this is easier than falling down dude. Your logic is utterly silly.

I'm taking your class it seems. so Smith says this is God and the dove is also god. You say it is Min and a bird/snake giving a Wedjat Eye. Are you in conflict with Smith now?
BTW Your snake has a bird leg on my facsimile no. 2. you know, I don't know who this Larson guy is. all I have is my PGP, encyclopedias, and you eating a hot dog. I love it, but you are not helping Smith.
Did you color Min's penis as a child? I'm really starting to wonder why the penis got censored on my copy.
chadandbarby 3 years ago
NO, the copy you have is not the one I have. No one has particularly paid attention to the various copies of the drawings and have rather been sloppy with them, unfortunate in some resepcts. The drawings are not considered scripture anyway. The snake is NOT always depicted the same on all hypocephali. That is part of my point. When it is said Smith drew it wrong, the assumption is that there is a correct way to draw these. There isn't. There is no standard which to use as a basis for drawing.

Thank you for explaing that so well.
Your nature is so kind and thoughtful .
