From the 1971 album Sticky Fingers. Argueably the Stones best album. Mick Taylor did the solo on this. Country isn't what comes to mind when one thinks of the Stones but they proved the could twang with the best of them.

Its a pretty good song if youre a new guitar player starting to venture into soloing (like me haha) but anyway, its all pretty much in the box formation of the minor pentatonic scale in the key of B.

Peace and thanks for watching:)~

  • Ok, I agree.. But, I`m not sure if Keith has always been overshadowed..? Rather Mick Taylor.. Jagger/Richards= This is world`s conception!!

  • Certainly Keith gets the most attention of all the guitarists for sure. But, I guess I see it from a guitar players perspective when I say when you look at all the classic guitar players in any list of acknowledgement, usually none of the Stones guitarists make that list. Sad, they all contributed to their unique sound.

  • mick taylor is surely the most underrated guitarist of all-time.

  • Ya, I'd have to agree.

  • Yeah, Taylor is one of best guitar player of all time!!!!! Amazing felling!!!! I like Taylor very much!!!! Technically is better guitarist than Keith. But Keith best riffmaster.

  • I would say Keith's contribution to the band has always been overshadowed. It's a shame people just identify him with being "Leathered and wrinkled" rather than how he plays. Keith is actually very talented and really one of rock's nicest guys.

It is a D major pentatonic scale. It contains the same notes as B minor pentatonic scale (D's relative minor) but starts on a D note.

  • @shwat17 The B blues scale is based of the B minor pentatonic scale. The only difference is the added flat-fifth (the blue note). The keys of B minor and D major contain the same notes. This song resolves to D, so it is in the key of D major.

B minor pentatonic (and blues) and D major pentatonic look virtually identical on the fret board. The only difference really being the underlying harmony, and perhaps the notes you end your licks on.

  • @WadeMacKinnon hey man, ive been playing by ear for years but just learning scales and theory. kinda looks like B blues also?

  • nailed it....tone and all

  • Mick Taylor is God. Sticky Fingers is the best album I have ever heard.

  • @niggaT42000 you're dumb.

  • Great Job! Perfect actually, note for note. And as for playing along to the song - duh! What else are you supposed to do? You didn't miss any notes either.

  • FUCK HOW PEOPLE ALWAYS HAVE THE SONG PLAYING IN THE BACKROUND..

  • you missed some notes ! but it's good !

  • Clean, approachable, easy to follow; a model of 'tube instruction. Props to you, dentist.
