"Mulch" was Iridescent Pictures' entry for the 48 Hour Film Project in Louisville, Kentucky (July 17-19, 2009). "Mulch" won four awards: Best Acting, Best Director, the People's Choice Award (Group A), and Best Film. The movie was required to be a mockumentary and include a three-ring binder, the dialogue "Just tell them Joe sent you!", and a gardener named Bert George. "Mulch" was directed by Zach Bales, it was written by Zach Bales and Jon Large, it was produced by Zach Bales, Eric Whitson, and Jason Stogsdill.

"Mulch" follows a wacky group of filmmakers as they try to create a sequel to Steven Spielberg's "Saving Private Ryan." There's only one problem with their ambitious plan: none of them have any idea what they're doing.
