This is Raghav's journey: moving from the small Indian town of Ambala to the metropolis of Singapore. It is also a very personal retelling of the 1975 Bollywood classic, Sholay, with the exploits of its outlaw heroes forming the backdrop of this insightful and funny coming-of-age story.
Written by NUS undergraduate Shiv Tandan and directed by Huzir Sulaiman, travel with Raghav from his boyhood town with no traffic lights to the complexities of his university life in Singapore, then back again when he returns to India -- a new India of cineplexes and fast food chains. In an ever-changing environment, what stays untouched? Well, in the end, there's always Sholay.
Jointly produced by Checkpoint Theatre and NUS Stage, this production is part of a CFA-supported professional theatre mentorship and laboratory programme.
