This show is so under rated it's criminal. This is the stuff that deserves Emmy's this and DS9 not mainstream crap like CSI.

@Jshaw71 That's a big call, there were a lot of powerful episodes in TNG.

This really is my favorite episode. The flute music is haunting and beautiful. The episode really shows Picards character. I love the way that he holds on to the "life" he had on Kataan and blends that with his real life.

One of the best episodes in tv drama history. Definitely in the top 5 of the series. This show should've won best drama for all awards this year.
-
Even after I've seen this scene like five times, it's still heart-wrenching.

This episode and 2 others are coming to Blu-Ray next year. Yay!
-
This is the best TNG episode, and as you say, the best scene of the episode. Such a lovely song that is not easily forgotten.
-
love TNG so much...
ain't it a bit ironic that the best scene in a science fiction series is a man playing the flute? :)
-
Picard gains 8 points of wisdom and 12 points of flute skill.

This was the only Star Trek episode to bring tears to my eyes! "Lessons" recaptured this song, and brought some, but nowhere near as strongly as this story did. A whole lifetime, in 25 minutes? Wow!
VERY touching. <:')
My husband & I had a good freind play this song at our wedding.
Life,love,music....all eternal
