posted as an FYI...watch out for these guys. There are about 10x as many nests in our housing development as there were last year at this time.

  • You are an idiot! How is the builder responsible for ants? Come on now!

  • You must work for Pulte to be calling people names. When I pay $50 a month in HOA dues one of their jobs is to keep up the common grounds. That includes getting rid of pests like fire ants. And when i have fire ants attack my two year old son, I will escalate that situation after the builder and property manager did nothing to take care of their problem. Idiot.

  • My aunt lives in a gated community in Florida and at one time there was tons of fire ant hills and I don't think anyone there blamed the builders.

  • I pay over 4 times that in HOA dues and we still have occasional ants or other issues.

Your homebuilder has a management company in charge of your HOA. Pulte isn't your management company. Look at your HOA check, does it say Pulte? No. Obviously this is your first home or first time to a community with an HOA.

  • Agreed. Put the effin camera down and get to work son...!

  • satans little helpers

  • They are if they are running the HOA and are supposed to me maintaining the common areas.

  • you are an idiot if you think a builder is responsable for ants.

  • i have also encountered similar types of ants in ontario on a canadian army base, they are not all that common but i remember looking down at a nest and seeing quite a few.... then in a flash they were all over my rifle and quickly swarming up my leg. my own sergeant was watching too and he was like "you better get up and get those things off of you!"

  • i'm from canada and i remember doing some training down in the states (was in the canadian army reserve). in ft.hood texas i lay down right on top of a nest of those. i remember looking down at my arm cus it stung and seeing hundreds of ants coming up out of my sleeve, i got up and starting brushing them off and got yelled at! but they were crazy!
